There is a contact angle between rings and balls, and they are available in 15, 25, 30 and 40 degree angles. The larger the contact angle is, the higher the radial load capacity is; the smaller the contact angle is, the more positive for high-speed operation. Single-row angular contact ball bearings, double row angular contact ball bearings and four-point contact ball bearings are commonly used and included in the catalogue.
Single-row angular contact ball bearings sustain significant axial loads in only one direction together with radial loads, two opposed bearings or a combination of more than two must be used.
Double-row angular contact ball bearings are basically a back-to-back mounting of two single-row angular contact ball bearings, but their inner and outer rings are each integrated into one.
Four-point contact ball bearings are radial single row angular contact ball bearings with raceways that are designed to support axial loads acting in both directions. The inner ring is split radically into two pieces.

Single row: main spindles of machine tools, high-frequency motor, gas turbine, centrifuge, front wheel for an automobile, differential pinion shaft, etc.
Double row: oil pump, roots blower, air compressor, gearboxes, fuel injection pumps, printing machinery, etc.
